If you intend to travel outside of the UAE for any purpose, please ensure that you follow the before and after travel procedures as prescribed by the KHDA and DHA. Please note that Distance Learning is no longer available to students during term-time.
Before you travel
Please complete the JAS Student: Future Intention to Travel form before you travel. One declaration form must be completed and submitted for each JAS child.
Standard absence reporting during term time
If you are planning to take your child/children out of school during term time please ensure that you formally notify the school of any pre-planned absence through our standard absence reporting procedure, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The email subject heading must contain your child’s full name and class.
Returning from overseas travel
Upon return from travel, we request that you must adhere to the following procedures:
All students aged 12 and over who have returned from travelling abroad require a negative PCR test with a 48 hour validity in order to resume learning in school.
PCR test results are valid for 48 hours from the date/time of the result. The PCR test must be completed at Dubai airport or at any approved DHA facility within the UAE. PCR test results from outside the UAE are not acceptable.
Students aged 12 and over will not be allowed to attend school without first submitting a copy of their negative PCR test result to the school and receiving approval from the school to return to class.
Submit a copy of the student’s PCR test result certificate by email to: email@example.com
Please note: The DHA guideline (28/08/21) states that children under 12 do not need to quarantine after travel. However, we continue to ask that for children under 12, parents should follow the above protocol in order to keep our school community safe.
