Learning and enrichment also extends to life outside the classroom as part of our commitment to creating respectful, resourceful, responsible, and confident young men and women. Although the syllabus is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, we deliver significantly more than this baseline as we prepare our Secondary students for university or direct entry into the workplace.

Personalised pathways are available to support students who require either a reduced or enhanced curriculum, and directed study courses are offered to students who require additional day-to-day support or who have elite sport or arts demands that make a full timetable unmanageable. The pathways also suit students who require an accelerated programme of subject-specific study. Assessment is integral to our learning and teaching. It makes sure each student’s progress is closely monitored against personal learning targets. Daily reviews of individual progress are the basis upon which personal targets are adjusted as each student progresses through Secondary school. An assessment at the start of Year 7 serves as the baseline for each subsequent end-of-year review. Progress is tracked each term using National Curriculum Standard Assessment external tests and considering the views of class and subject teachers, heads of department and senior staff. The results are captured and communicated to parents in the end-of-year school report.
