WELCOME FROM OUR PTA CHAIR
I am delighted to welcome you to the Jebel Ali School PTA.
For over 40 years a strong community has been at the heart of our school. The relationship between the parents and the school is part of what makes JAS so special.
The goal of the PTA is to keep this relationship as strong as it can be and to help create and host events that further the bond and enable us to come together as a community to support our school. We are a very active PTA and meet once a month to plan the numerous activities that take place during the school year. Our events range from quiz nights, the famous festive fayre and spring fayre as well as a range of other initiatives that boost the school's themed and cultural days. We also help run second-hand uniform sales and host coffee mornings for new families to JAS.
I have two children at the school and as a parent I can honestly say that both of them are thriving at JAS and love coming to school every day. They feel the JAS magic that so many people speak of and I am sure your children will feel that too.
Once again, a warm welcome to the JAS family. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to learn more about our amazing PTA.

Hi there! My name is Kelly Pita, I have been a proud member of the PTA since 2019, when my two little ones joined Jebel Ali School. Not so little now my daughter, Gabriella is in year 6 and my son, Rafael in year 5. As a graphic designer it’s been great to be able to put my skills to good use within the ‘colouring-in dept’ of the committee and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It’s truly awesome to be part of this remarkable group of individuals that have come together to form this dynamic team. The PTA have achieved so much for the school and continue to do so each term. My children absolutely love having their mom involved at the school, as I too appreciate being able to contribute in some small way to the wonderful community that is Jebel Ali School

My name is Maria and I’m a JAS parent since September 2020. I have two children, in F2 and Y2, and my third will be joining F1 next year. We come from a very international family and I love meeting new people and making friends. Unfortunately, our joining the school had coincided with the start of the pandemic, and it was very hard to get to know the parent community. This is why I was very happy to be welcomed by the school’s friendly PTA. I’m a PR freelancer and love anything to do with events, business collaborations and bringing people together, and if it’s for a good cause, it’s even better. My involvement with the PTA was my first real exposure to the JAS parent community and I’m amazed and humbled by the dedication, commitment and amazing spirit of the PTA team.

Hi, I’m Jon and originally from England, I’ve been lucky to call Dubai my home since 2004 and have been a JAS parent since our daughter started school in 2016. I have two children at JAS, Lily in Y4 and Oscar in Y2. Pre Covid, it was amazing to see all the great things that the PTA were doing for the school that benefited the kids and created a community feel so once the PTA kicked things off again I wanted to do something to give back. I am a passionate photographer so I decided to volunteer and offer my skills to be the official paparazzi! So here I am, privileged to be part of an amazing team of people in the JAS PTA.

Bonjour JAS! We have not all met before so let me introduce myself and why I have joined the PTA. My name is Tamara Alaeddine or if you prefer you can refer to me as Ghalya and Zeid’s mom as I believe this is my current identity for the next few years. I’m originally Lebanese born and raised in Canada. I came to Dubai in 2007 and was lucky to immediately land myself a job with Johnson and Johnson until 2017. That’s when my daughter Ghalya was born and I decided to resign and enjoy this new roller coaster adventure. I decided to join the PTA as I wanted to give back to the community and somewhat feel like I’m at work again without the big responsibilities for the moment. The experience and learning has been great. Bringing joy to all the kids and the school during the festive fayre has been astonishing! But what surprised me even more was the love, help and tremendous effort provided by the PTAs to create such a great event. I'm so thankful that my kids have the chance to be part of this great community.
Looking forward to working with the PTA on the upcoming projects.
