JOB SPECIFICATION

Hours of Work: 3 days a week 

 

This Job Description may be adjusted by the Headteacher according to the changing needs of the school. This post is subject to the conditions of employment contained in the Jebel Ali School contract and to work in line with new COVID guidelines in supporting students and staff.

 

Foundation Stage Library Role

Role Summary:

To work closely with the FS1 & FS2 Year Group Leaders to plan for, lead and develop the Foundation Stage Library sessions in order to promote a love of reading with our youngest students.

 

Role Responsibilities:

Under the direction and guidance of the FS1 & FS2 Year Group Leaders: 

  • Plan for and lead the Foundation Stage students during library visits and/or library support in class.

  • Select and prepare the books and resources needed in order to deliver the Foundation Stage Library programme

  • Encourage a love of reading.

  • further develop and enhance the Foundation Stage Library programme

  • Arrange displays and maintain and enhance the learning environment in the Foundation Stage Library.

  • Support the stock maintenance process for the Foundation Library – includes weeding out of date, damaged and old resources, replacing “lost” or “missing” items where appropriate, purchasing new editions, etc. 

  • Support the management of the automated library system alongside the Primary Librarian.

  • Assist the Primary Librarian as needed to catalogue new resources, and amend existing resources.

Foundation Stage Music & Movement Role

Role Summary:

To work closely with the FS1 Year Group Leader to plan for, lead and develop the FS1 music & movement sessions in order to promote a love of music and dance with our youngest students.

 

Role Responsibilities:

Under the direction and guidance of the FS1 Year Group Leader: 

  • plan for and lead the Foundation Stage One students during Music & Movement lessons

  • Select and prepare the music and resources needed in order to deliver the Music & Movement programme

  • Encourage a love of music and dance

  • further develop and enhance the Music & Movement programme

 

Other duties and responsibilities:

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 A/levels or equivalent

  • Must be on spouse or dependent visa

 Preferred:

  • Cache level 3

  • Previous LA experience  within The National Curriculum for England

  • Previous librarian experience
